Pain Grows Well In This Soil - Prose

51

By The Suburban Poet

The rows were plowed once again
Sowing the seeds of bitterness
The tears dug deep this time
They forgot about tenderness
I let it happen
The fields awaited
A meadow
A mountain

Death
Heartache
It’s all the same
What is meant to be
Is meant to be
And what will die

And what will grow
Will soon depart
As always
And another tear
Will dig deeper than before
Because pain
Grows well in this soil

These lines bring out the true essence of the poem:

A meadow

A mountain

Death

Heartache

It’s all the same

Great job again.

@senoritaa - Thank you! I guess I was thinking we have different problems but we're still here and all share a common fate....

@duffsmom - Thank you!

@Deborah - Thank you again! I guess I thought of tears plowing a field over and over in each season of pain... why would it continue to plow if there wasn't fruit to bear?

@pmccray - Thank you!
