Song Lyrics - Play Your Game

61

By The Suburban Poet

Oh no…. here we go again
A pretty girl taking my head for a spin
Ok let’s go ahead and play your game
You pretend not to notice
And I’ll try to light your flame

How many more times baby?
You want me to treat you like a lady
Ok let’s go ahead and play your game
You keep your eyes to yourself
And I’ll try to get your name

One day you’re gonna’ wonder
Where all the boys went
You played hard to get
Yeah that’s how your time was spent
But now you’re older
And it’s not quite the same
Nobody ever told you
That life’s not a game

Oh yeah… the look’s in your eye
Guess you’ve decided I’m your kind of guy
Ok let’s go ahead and play your game
You keep getting chased
But it’s me you want to tame

The pretty young girl is all grown
And she’s cut her hair
Now it’s about equality
She’s queen of the lair
But there is something called love
And it’s part of life
She better figure it out
Or she’ll be somebody’s ex-wife

One day you’re gonna wonder
Where all the boys went
You played hard to get
Yeah that’s how your time was spent
But now you’re older
And it’s not quite the same
Nobody ever told you
That life is not a game

Poet- kinda makes me glad I already tricked a dude I to marrying me! Those games are exhausting! Lol seriously - great lyrics. I love how you always have a little twist in the end.

@schoolgirlforreal - Thank you; glad you liked it... I had a friend on Facebook who went "Uhm... angry much?" Ha...

@RealHousewife - Oh I bet you didn't have to trick him. I'm just a guy whose been through it and I guess I haven't figured it all out; this is just from the guy's point of view; the complaining point of view. I've had lot's of happy times with women. But I've also had my worst times... maybe everybody can say that.... being alone eliminates stress but you have that feeling you're missing something on the inside. I guess on this one it's a plea for the woman to not choose based on the guy who can solve the hard to get riddle best. That's not an indication of who really is meant for you. It's not a relationship. It's just a game of clever conversation (thanks Billy Joel).

Have you got music to go with it?

@Robwrite - No. I just have these lyrics. I'm the lyric guy. I'm trying to hook-up with some Austin professional musicians for the music.
